Spring Beauties

The winter whose arrival I had begrudged back in October is now history.  I captured little of its beauty on camera preferring to keep my gloves on and keep moving… But with the advent of spring sunshine I am back in business.  Here are the highlights so far.

The big moment of March was the arrival of grandbaby #8–Madelyn Grace in Powell River!  So I had a handy excuse to abandon the snow and get a sneak preview of spring’s finery.

Of course the best bit was baby cuddles and visits with our three daughters…

And spending time with the big brother!

But then there was the sea to savor…

and the picnics and the barbecues and the hikes…

By the time I was ready to fly home Magnolia blooms were dancing in spring’s freshness and I just couldn’t get enough of them!

Now I’m home…

So pleased to find that spring is on the move here too!

God’s world is so full of His beauty!

Thanks for letting me share my corner of it with you ( :

(How this did not get published until now is a mystery…but here it is belatedly…)

October Highlights…

October surprised us with a dump of snow early on, catching most of the trees before they had a chance to turn to gold…

But creating a winter wonderland for a few days…

It all vanished just in time for our road trip to catch up with all the grand little people in our lives…

Powell River’s balmy weather extended our fall…

And it was sweet bliss to visit familiar haunts in the company of our girls and their significant others ( :

and of course to catch up with this little guy that has grown up so much in the five months since we saw him last!

All to soon we said our Farewells till next time…

And suddenly October was already half over, and the rest flew by in a series of days trumpeted by glorious sunrises!

but not a lot of picture-perfect moments otherwise.  Nature has taken on a subdued hue in readiness for winter white.  I’m in no rush!

Drive-by Snapshots of Spring Coming and Going…

Whew! We took a week’s vacation and did a whirlwind tour-de-kids-and-grandkids…

And with it we got to fast-forward the coming of spring, leaving receding ice and the sprigs of larch just barely sprouting…

to follow the highway to the coast and to spring fully sprung!

It was glorious!

Then we headed a day’s drive North…

to visit two more grands and their parents!

Here spring was just getting started, and the blush of a new lawn sprouting was cause enough for joy!

But the weather was warm enough to drag out the water toys and to have a pretend picnic too!

Very shortly it was time to hit the road for the daytrip home via Jasper and the fabled Columbia Icefields…

I was not sorry to leave the snow and ice behind and arrive home to find our own grass had greened in our absence and grown enough to mow.  And just maybe, the next pictures I take will be of flowers on my doorstep!

Thanks for stopping by to share our trip ( :  I hope you are enjoying whatever stage of spring you find yourself in.
