Season snippets…

Not too much walking happening around here this week…it was time for our annual Christmas get-together.  So I share instead some advice for the season and always…

String some Lights and smile because Jesus is the Light of the world!

Create some snow if you have none around.  (This was incidentally the winning entry in our Snowflake Making contest!)

Join hands with a friend or two and dance in the Light!

because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:78,79

Season’s Greetings …

We’re having a bit of snow to get us in the mood for Christmas.  I was out for a little walk this afternoon to snap up some pictures for you…and now with nightfall the snow is beginning to blanket the streets and bring that delicious quiet to the world.  Speaking of delicious,  I’m also enjoying a homemade lemon snowcone fresh from the heavens…

I wanted to send you a Christmas greeting but  I have no words comparable to Zechariah’s eloquent song in Luke 1–that     l-o-n-g song-filled chapter where everybody’s having miracle babies and singing for joy!

"Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,  because he has come and has redeemed his people!

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us…to rescue us from the hand of our enemies,

IMG_3148

and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

IMG_3140

…to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

IMG_3152

because of the tender mercy of our God,

IMG_3158

by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

IMG_3100

to shine on those living in darkness

IMG_3101

and in the shadow of death,

 IMG_3104

to guide our feet into the path of PEACE."

Amen.   May you and your house experience His peace this Christmas season and always!

Blessings!

P.S.  Our own miracle grandbaby is coming to be with us this Christmas.  What a joy!

When Nature Comes In

We’ve had a cold snap here, unusually cold for us.   Snow has come and stayed for days.  Most unusual.  The routine of getting out for walks has been interrupted by sundry wonderful other opportunities that come with Christmas time… But the sweet thing is that Nature has come inside to us in the form a dainty spruce tree.  It is somewhat reminiscent of the classic "Charlie Brown tree" only ours is beautiful and we love it ( :Christmas Tree

So let me take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas, but something more than that.  I wish you a peaceful beautiful Christmas.  May there be moments when you just sit and gaze in wonder at some bit of beauty God has brought into your world…

Oh, and I did in fact get out the door for a walk too and found it therapeutic in unwinding from all the busy-ness attendant with ‘getting ready’ for Christmas.  It took a bit to begin to see the silence but here are some clips that caught my eye…
