Mysteries and Wonders of Spring…

I took a stroll out back a few weeks back and had to fetch my camera to capture all the beauty springing up…
IMG_1653 This year the deer didn’t get all the blossom tips of my rhododendron!
IMG_1659 All Jim’s little fir transplants are sprouting tender new growth…
IMG_1664 My maple transplant has grown tremendously.ย  I love seeing the fresh new leaves…
IMG_1667 Dandelions may seem common but there is nothing common about these amazing little puffballs…
IMG_1670 Sping Beauties grew in the woods of NJ where I grew up–always a signal of early spring…
IMG_1679 Hairy curiosities these.ย  Do you recognize them? They will unfurl to be grand ferns.ย  Who would have guessed it…
IMG_1684 I don’t know why the grass does this but it does.ย  Very weird root-like hairs burst out of what look like seed bodies of this saw grass that grows out back…Weird.
IMG_1687 Always something more to be seen on a closer look…
IMG_1690ย  Willow wands…
IMG_1701 My little ash tree is dressing up.ย  These will be transformed to red-orange berries come fall.
IMG_1702 I love blue flowers!
IMG_1706ย IMG_1719
IMG_1711
Promise of strawberries to come…
IMG_1716 Chives are everywhere standing sentinel in their purple pomp…

IMG_1722 One day I hope to have lilacs blooming all over the place.ย  This is my first bush and I love it!
Note: My postings have become erratic at best…This is due in large part to the coming of the sun to our part of the world and the irresistible draw of the out-of-doors in general, and my garden in particular.ย  It is glorious!ย  LS

  1. I am so glad your erratic posts are due to the the draw of the sun and not anything more stressful. Enjoy!

  2. Yay! you are gardening…that's lovely. Or, perhaps I should say, were gardening before you set off on your adventure. And so you continue planting seeds in the life of your Chase and his parents, and all who follow along…seeds of love, faith and prayer. Our God who answers will cause them to grow and your garden will bloom beautiful.
