A trail to hike
A quiet lake…
lost in its own reflections.
A walk around
A sit above
Upside-down trees below.
A waiting canoe…
A skim-coat of ice beckoning…
A feathery ice-scape…
And our man-powered icebreaker …
All made for a great sunny afternoon adventure, together.

We buzzed slowly up Loon Lake in little old Bombie
to our favorite deserted island,
pungent with the irresistible elixir of sun-baked sphagnum moss…
to spend the afternoon alone
together
Well, not quite alone…the beach was rather crowded with these miniature frogs…
and there definitely were onlookers who viewed us with suspicion for having come to spoil their repose.
But otherwise, we had the world to ourselves.
And I couldn’t help reflecting, why us, here, now…
At leisure to enjoy such beauty… (and such reflections!)
I don’t have the answers except to know that it is all of grace,
and I am grateful.

Will it rain? Will it not? Will it rain? Will it not?
Sometimes it’s hard to guess.
We took the chance and headed out.
And it did rain…
…until we got under cover. And then it stopped, and started again just as it was time to head back to the truck…
But the world is beautiful, even in the rain.
We walked and sang and it was good to be together, singin’ in the rain!
