Good-bye Powell River

Today is moving day. The van is loaded. We’re on our way.

Ironically, this was the paper that came to our doorstep this week:

Another family will receive its welcome…

Our baby flew North this morning to spend some time with her Grandma in Alaska!

And we packed up with the help of friends and hit the road.

Good-bye Powell River……..

Good-bye friends…

Good-bye family home…

…with the personal touches…

Good-bye to the coast…

And Thank-you God for so many years in such a paradise!

We came here as a family…

We came here as a family; we’re leaving as a two-some.

I’ve been busy packing away memories this week in hopes of sharing them with the next generation…

Packing away the Dickens’ household only took part of an afternoon.

One box per room.

Oh that it were so simple packing away the Skelton household!

Interjected in the packing, for sanity’s sake, are tandem rides and quick meals out, shared in picturesque places…

By next week this time we will be officially homeless, with all our worldly goods boarding the ferry one last time…

It’s good to be in this thing together.

Still Mine

There’s no place to convalesce like home. And no better time for it than spring. In all honesty there hasn’t been much convalescing to do; my eye is fine. But avoiding strenuous activity was what the doctor ordered so… have been trying to comply. Does weeding count?!

It’s been a sweet thing to be back ‘home’ for my favorite of seasons, but a little bittersweet to see all the little wonders that will be sold with the house.

But for now, they’re mine:
