Wherever we wander…

Wherever we wander, beauty is always to be found.

Far from home tucked away in quietness in a nook alone I was surrounded by it…

Such cheerful abandon!

And tender sweetness filling the air…

We are home again now.

Still the season’s late salmonberry hang coquettishly in the cool woods…

The blackberries making up for lost time put on their delicate crepe dresses…

My winter wheat has survived the tramp of man and beast to multiply itself in comely heads…

And the foxglove never looked so radiant as in day’s setting sun!

May that be said of me when my life’s wanderings are done!

“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, And they will be radiant over the bounty of the LORD— Over the grain and the new wine and the oil, And over the young of the flock and the herd; And their life will be like a watered garden, And they will never languish again.” (Jer.31:12)

Two good reasons to travel

There are all sorts of reasons that people travel I suppose…

The ferries feel like deluxe cruises when the sun shines…

The harsh aspect of winter is softening in the mountain passes…

And I love going to the zoo…

The peacocks are invariably vain.
And the giraffes (my favorite) always incredibly proportioned…

The hippos are huge…

(This elephant could use a summer manicure.)

And it’s great to hit the wide open spaces and feel the bigness of the sky…

But the two best reasons we’ve found  to travel are:
